Interior designer
ROLE OF THE PROFESSIONAL
L’Interior Designer are professionals who manage the interior planning of public and private settings: homes, shops, hotels, museums, offices, large exhibition spaces, etc.
They have to know how to modulate and compose the aspects of space, furniture, lighting and colours
- capturing trends in taste and evolutions of styles in a social and cultural context;
- interpret the requirements and expectations of the client, skilfully mediating them with the inherent problems of design.
For an Interior Designer, designing means dressing a space, working not only on furniture and fittings, but also intervening on all components that allow the space to be inhabited: light, colour, texture, materials, systems etc...
The Interior Designer also has to know how to manage their own expressive creativity respecting the clients’ requirements. They therefore have to acquire design sensitivity and a multi-disciplinary culture.
